“Al-Hikma University College contributes to the Peace and Community Coexistence Conference, organized by Al-Mustansiriya University in collaboration with other private universities, including the American University and Al-Rasheed College. Our college was represented by the Assistant for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Habib Rathi Kifah, the Director of the Quality Assurance Division, Assistant Lecturer Istebraq Mohsen, and the Head of the Technology Incubation Unit, Associate Engineer Zahraa Jamal.
This scientific conference on peace and community coexistence was organized by Al-Mustansiriya University as part of its commitment to promoting dialogue and understanding among communities. During the opening ceremony, attended by the Administrative Assistant Professor Safaa Taqi Al-Eisaawi and the Assistant for Academic Affairs Professor Faten Fadel Al-Qazzaz, the President of Al-Mustansiriya University, Professor Hameed Fadel Al-Tamimi, emphasized the importance of holding such conferences. He highlighted the university’s dedication, along with its colleges and research and medical centers, to promoting peaceful dialogue and spreading it among individuals to avoid violence and its negative societal consequences. These efforts foster respect for the culture, beliefs, and diversity of others, encouraging harmony and acceptance within the community.
Dr. Al-Tamimi also stressed the significance of strengthening the teachings and principles of Islam to achieve societal security, which is a cornerstone of a nation’s progress and development, enabling prosperity in both public and private sectors. The conference concluded with recommendations emphasizing the training and qualification of academic staff to counter extremism with scientific approaches and to protect students by encouraging a culture of dialogue and acceptance of others. The recommendations also highlighted the pivotal role of media in promoting moderate thought, tolerance, and acceptance of diverse ideas within the community to strengthen national identity
