Vision, Mission, and Goals
Department of Nursing Techniques
Vision
Nursing is considered one of the most important links between the specialized doctor and the patient, as the nurse plays a crucial and complementary role in the success of the patient’s treatment process by monitoring the patient’s condition and professionally and efficiently applying medical procedures. Throughout history, nurses have been referred to as “angels of mercy” for the physiological, medical, and psychological support they provide, which aids in the patient’s recovery. The importance of studying in the nursing department is reflected in its outputs, as it follows an efficient academic system that is on par with the educational systems of neighboring countries and the world, with curricula adopted for teaching and training.
Goals
The Nursing Department aims to graduate qualified and trained personnel capable of performing their humanitarian tasks with the ethics of angels of mercy, scientifically and professionally. This is to provide government and private healthcare institutions in Iraq with skilled nurses who contribute to serving the community and developing the country’s healthcare system. The goal of nursing science is to build the nurse’s character to provide care for any patient before and after surgical procedures, as well as care in emergency and intensive care units, and to diagnose cases entering these departments. Additionally, nurses are involved in vaccination campaigns and actively work within medical teams, providing psychological support, particularly in the care of children, the elderly, and pregnant women. We also emphasize the scientific aspect of nursing, where nurses participate in specialized seminars and conferences by presenting research papers that reflect their practical experiences, thus contributing to the advancement of nursing science.
