Vision of the Law Department
The department aspires to advance its role both theoretically and practically in the field of legal education, in accordance with planned scientific research strategies. It aims to keep pace with local and international legal legislations and organize in-person and online seminars within and outside the college. Additionally, the department actively engages its faculty members in discussing negative societal phenomena affecting youth and finding solutions to eliminate them.
Mission of the Law Department
The department’s mission is to be a pioneering force in serving society by preparing graduates with strong legal knowledge and expertise. These graduates will be equipped to apply their legal education practically upon earning their Bachelor’s degree in Law, enabling them to contribute to their communities through legal consultancy in both the public and private sectors. Additionally, they will serve as advocates for justice in the legal profession, particularly in litigation, by adopting a distinguished scientific approach in both theoretical and practical legal fields.
Objectives of the Law Department
The objectives are divided into two main sections:
- Continuous Interaction with Students:
The department focuses on continuous engagement with students in the practical application of the Virtual Court course, showcasing cases handled by Iraqi courts. This allows students to experience real-world legal practice, fostering creativity and breaking any fear they may have. The goal is for them to become pillars of law in Iraq. - Creativity and Excellence:
The department aims to nurture creativity and excellence, ensuring that its graduates become role models for the college and the higher education system in general. Additionally, the department encourages students to pursue postgraduate studies, preparing them to contribute to the development and preservation of the legal system. - Development of Scientific and Cultural Abilities:
The department is dedicated to enhancing the scientific and cultural skills of students based on modern educational foundations. - Contributing to Educational and Social Development:
The department seeks to enrich the educational journey through outstanding research focused on solving social issues affecting Iraqi society from a legal perspective. This is achieved through workshops and seminars designed to serve and benefit the community.
- Supporting Educational Institutions:
The department strives to support educational institutions by establishing joint legal research centers with both public and private local and Arab universities. This includes providing training and presenting legal publications on recent legislation. - Emphasizing Integrity:
The department underscores the importance of integrity and the constant pursuit of justice in the practice of law, both in the public and private sectors. - Active Participation in Legal Activities:
The department encourages active involvement in legal activities that contribute to raising legal awareness and keeping up with the latest local and international developments. - Real Engagement in Conferences:
The department encourages faculty members to actively participate in local, Arab, and international conferences, presenting innovative ideas and research papers, particularly on topics like terrorism and societal crimes.
